We were all taught to ignore our inner authority. That place in us that truly knows – what is for us and what isn’t.
Since early childhood, you were conditioned to listen to everything but yourself. You were taught there is someone out there that know better than you. Well, it’s not true!
You were also taught to listen to your mind. What you consider as your inner voice, are just thoughts based on conditioning. Based on everything you were taught and told. And on all of the openness in you, that is constantly influenced by the outside world. In the Human Design map that openness is represented by what is not defined in your map. Everything that is not colored in in the map, is what speaks to you through your mind, bossing you around, and leading you astray.
So, Human Design suggests that you stop listening to outer authorities, including your mind, and find your true inner authority, so you can be YOU and live the lie that is for you.
There is a place in you that knows what is correct for you. It is a knowing that resides in the wisdom of the form, it is connected to the laws of nature, to the intelligence that moves everything in perfect order. It’s in your body. Inner authority is unique in each person. It is in what is defined in the map (colored in), what is constant in you, that you can trust. Your inner authority is a part of your genetic structure.
When you live your inner authority your mind becomes a beautiful outer authority – providing your authentic perspective, as an expression of your uniqueness.
What is your inner authority?
Emotional authority – Solar Plexus
47% of the population have an emotional inner authority.
The Solar Plexus center is the triangle on the right side of the map. If this center is colored in in your map, it means your emotional center is defined. In Human Design language it means you are an emotional being.
When defined, the Solar Plexus is the inner authority, always. If it is your inner authority it means you have no truth in the now. Your chemistry is changing all the time, creating an emotional wave, that has its own rhythm and pattern. Sometimes high, sometimes low, it is never still, like water. You do not control your emotional wave, and the stories you have about it, trying to find who’s to blame or to favor, and how to fix it, are not helping you. It is difficult for you to make a decision in the moment, and it is not correct for you either! You are not here to be spontaneous, especially in making important decisions in life.
The emotions, that chemistry in you, is coloring the way you see the world every moment – people and situations are perceived according to your wave. When you make a spontaneous decision, you may regret it when your emotions change, and perception changes with them.
Emotional people need to wait for clarity. Emotional clarity. The more you give yourself time to be with something, and let the emotional center process information, go through the emotional wave – the more correct you will be. The more you will experience self-love and self-respect. And when you respect your authority and the time that you need, so will people around you. Don’t pressure yourself into making decisions, and don’t let the world pressure you.
Clarity is never 100%, it cannot be. But if you truly wait for clarity, you will know it when it comes, and then, there will be no doubt. When you decide out of clarity there will be satisfaction, success, and peace.
35% of the population have a sacral inner authority.
If you have the rectangle in the center of the bodygraph colored in red, that means your sacral is defined. If you do not have the emotional center colored in (triangle on the right side), that indicates that the sacral center is your inner authority.
If you are a sacral authority, you are all about the energy in the now. You are either available to what is offered to you or not. Available for a person, or a situation, or not. You either have the energy for something, or you don’t. The sacral is the motor that generates the life force, and it has a unique structure in you, according to the gates defined in it. According to its specific mechanism it opens or closes to what the world brings, it responds moment to moment with a sound. When it opens it makes a sound you will recognize as a “yes” (usually a-huh), and when it closes it makes a sound you’ll recognize as “no” (usually a-ah). It might have an mmmm sound when there is no answer, or if the question wasn’t clear.
If you are a sacral person you are not here to think things over, to give them time. Your body knows immediately, and it can tell you. In order to listen to your sounds and start respecting them, you really need to let go of mind, for it will surely have a debate with what will come up, out of its conditioning. When you are asked, respond spontaneously with your sounds, ignore your thought and you shall find out what being a generator is all about. When you are correct your energy will take you to the right places, right people and right situation. You will have the right and satisfied life. And from one decision to the other the answer to “who am I?” will be revealed, as the experience of living you.
11% of the population have a splenic inner authority. Only Projectors and Manifestors can be a splenic authority.
The Spleen is the triangle on the left side of the map. If this center is colored in in your map, it means your spleen is defined. If you have no solar plexus and sacral defined, this is your inner authority.
If you are a splenic authority your intuition is your truth. That gut feeling, a sensation in the body, the basic instinct in you, a knowing in the now. This knowing never lasts more than a moment, and it is very subtle. Being connected and attentive to it is truly being an existential being.
Splenic Manifestors should initiate out of the spleen, and they will know peace. Splenic Projectors should accept or deny invitations out of the spleen, and they will know success.
Ego authority – the heart center
1.5% of the population have an ego inner authority. Only Projectors and Manifestors can be an ego authority.
The heart center is the smallest triangle in the map. If it is colored in red in your map, it means your ego is defined. If you have no solar plexus, sacral, or spleen defined, it means that the ego center is your inner authority.
If you are an ego authority your will is your truth. You should feel your heart, and you should ask yourself what is it you truly want. You are here to be egoistic, and ask yourself what you are going to get out of this. We are conditioned to think that is a negative thing, but it is not what we think. The defined heart is tribal, it cannot separate itself from the tribe, from the people in its life. A correct decision for you, coming out of your true will, will be correct for your tribe as well, no matter what it may look like to them.
If you are a Manifestor you should initiate out of your will, and you will know peace. If you are a Projector, you should accept or deny an invitation out if it, and you will know success.
Self-projected authority – the G center
2.5% of the population have a self-projected inner authority. Only Projectors have this authority.
The G center is the diamond shaped center in the center of the map. If it is colored in yellow in your map, it means your self is defined. If you have no solar plexus, sacral, spleen, or ego defined, this center is your inner authority.
The G center is the center of identity, of direction and love. It is where the magnetic monopole – the driver of the vehicle resides. As a self-projected authority you probably have a strong center and know “who you are”, but it isn’t necessarily easy to make a decision. This isn’t felt in the body like other centers. In order to know the truth of your inner authority, you need to hear your SELF speak.
The best way to get to a correct decision for you is to speak to others and hear what this self is saying, hear yourself. People are like sounding boards for you, to hear yourself when you are trying to decide whether to accept an invitation or deny it.
Experiment with listening to yourself this way, and you will get to know success.
No inner authority – mental Projectors and Reflectors
3% of the population have no consistent inner authority. Those are the mental Projectors and Reflectors.
Mental projectors have only 2-3 centers defined, from the throat and up. Reflectors have no definition – meaning, they only have defined gates, but no channels and centers that are colored in. all their centers are white.
Both of them may find it pretty challenging to make a decision, at least one that will last, that they can be sure of. There is no place in the body that they can consistently connect to in order to make a decision. This does not mean they are not their own authority, they are! But their inner authority is a process.
It is good for both of them to have people in their life that they can trust, that can be good consultants at times. But in the end like everyone else, they are here to connect to who they are, through being their own authority.
Mental Projectors go through a mental process. They too should “use” people in their life as sounding boards, like the self-projectors. When they speak they can hear their own mind speak and through a process reach a clarity, a mental clarity.
Reflectors are lunar beings. They change with the plants and people around them, but their consistency is the moon, moving through their gates. Their authority is this process of the moon, moving through them in a 28.5 days cycle. In order to reach clarity about things that are really important, they should wait and go through that cycle, to wait at least 28.5 days to make that decision.
